Geomorphological research of river channel of Morava river in national reserve Vrapač and its surroundings
Kirchner, Karel ; Hrádek, Mojmír ; Ivan, Antonín ; Máčka, Zdeněk ; Krejčí, M.
Contributon deals with geomorphology of national reserve Vrapač (landscape protected area Litovelské Pomoraví). On the basis of detailed geomorphological mapping, the anastomosing channel pattern was distinguished. Development of fluvial systém was observed by using of historical data (maps, aerial photos) in the period of last 200 years. Attention was devoted to human impact on topography of flood plain, too
Investigations of channel network in landscape protected area Litovelské Pomoraví
Kirchner, Karel ; Máčka, Zdeněk ; Krejčí, M. ; Roštínský, P.
On the basis of detailed geomorphological research, the anastomosing channel pattern was distinguished in the northern part of landscape protected area Litovelské Pomoraví. Two dominant fluvial processes are acting within the floodplain in the present time: - an increasing dynamics and incision of main bedload stream channel, - degradation of the systém of multiple side channels by infiling with fine sediments deposited by flood discharges
Small terrestrial mammals (Insecta, Rodentia) of aluvial ecosystems in the Odra River, the Morava River and the Dyje River lowlands
Řehák, Z. ; Bryja, Josef
Paper summarizes knowledge about small terrestrial mammals in segments of alluvial landscape that are only marginaly affected by human. It is based on published as well as unpublished data obtained during monitoring of communities of rodents and insectivores in Odra, Morava, and Dyje rivers floodplains.
Importance of lentic waterbodies and managed flooding for natural fish reproduction of lower River Dyje
Bartošová, Š. ; Jurajda, Pavel
In 1997-1999, the 0+ fish communities of backwaters, oxbows and flooded and non-flooded borrow pits along the River Dyje (Danube basin) were investigated. Species richness was high in flooded borrow pits and backwaters. Abundance was high in flooded borrow pits and oxbows. Non-flooded borrow pits present pure 0+ fish community.
The imprortance of wetlands in Biosphere Reserve in the Czech Repubic
Květ, Jan ; Jelínková, E.
The presence of wetlands greatly increases the biodiversity and habitat diversity in the Czech BRs. Wetlands also play an important role in the water balance and biogeochemical cycling of the BRs. Their conservation and/or sustainable management should set an example to wetland management in other regions of the Czech Republic.
